| A system for health care in Afghanistan is returning to life after suffering decades of conflict in the country.
At a time when the health of their population ranks among the worst in the world, the relative security and peace in the last two years has allowed the Afghanistan Ministry of Health and its partners to begin rebuilding the health care infrastructure.
The Afghan Healthcare Consortium, in conjunction with CURE International, aims to create centers of excellence in healthcare at its two facilities. At the same time, the facilities will be developed as training sites to assist the Ministry of Health in the process of capacity-building.
The first formal training program will be a Family Medicine program for Afghan doctors. In His Image International will be establishing the training program.
